I’m off again, heading back to Montpellier, this time for six weeks if all goes well. It feels a little different this time, not only because of the long period of time I’ll be away from Kathryn, but also because I have a job that I’m going to continue doing remotely.

My packing was different this time too, since I’m carrying two computers instead of my usual one. For the first time, I got myself a small, hard-sided, roll-aboard case to replace the backpack I’ve used as a carry-on for many years. It’s just big enough for two laptops, a change of underwear, and some outerwear in case it’s cooler than planned when I arrive. My back is thanking me for the change.

Presently, I’m still in Phoenix. I knew before I left the house that the first flight was delayed 15 minutes. Right now, the delay is still 15 minutes, so I like my chances of making the connection in Salt Lake City.
