We had a very short connection in Zurich, but we made it with about two minutes to spare. We made sure we were standing at the door when the first train pulled into the station, and the second train was waiting for us on the other side of the same platform.

Our seats on this train are both facing opposite the direction of travel. Kathryn doesn’t like that, but it beats not having seats at all.

I almost didn’t make reservations for this train. It’s almost full, so I’m glad I changed my mind.

As we traveled from Lausanne to Zurich, it was interesting to hear the language of the other passengers steadily changing from French to German as passengers got on and off at the intermediate stations.
