Cool and windy walk today from Lorca to Los Arcos. I decided it was time for a hotel room for a night, so I’m at a hotel/restaurant/bar/rest stop/gas station/convenience store on the outskirts of town. They’re providing a ride to and from the Camino, so the distance wasn’t an issue. I arrived too early for dinner, but they made me a pizza that wasn’t awful.

The scenery the last few days has been mostly fields of grain, interspersed with occasional vineyards like the ones surrounding the wine fountain I mentioned in an earlier post. In the distance, you can see some dramatic cliffs. I hope I don’t have to go over them.

During today’s walk, I passed through Estella, where my friend Babar had to leave the Camino a few weeks ago because of problems with his foot. I reached out to him to let him know I was thinking about him and to wish him well for when he continues next year.
