It’s now a routine.

I arrive in Montpellier on a Sunday afternoon after leaving Phoenix in the middle of the day Saturday, so I still haven’t been to Mass yet. After Mass, I’m quite hungry, but also quite tired from the travels. So what do I do? I pick up a kebab frites on my way home. And other than for reasons of good nutrition, why not? My favorite kebab shop is only a short walking detour from the tram stop.

Last night, just to break the routine in the smallest of ways, I decided to replace my go-to samouraï sauce with a combination of algérienne and andalouse. The former was for the sandwich, while the latter was for the fries.

Compared to samouraï, the algérienne sauce had a nice extra bit of spicy that was great on the meat. The andalouse sauce wasn’t bad on the fries, but it was a little sweeter than I expected, maybe more ketchup than mayonnaise. I probably won’t order andalouse again, but I’m glad I finally tried both.

It’s nice to have a routine. It’s nice to have a change. It’s nice to have both at the same time.
