Apparently the train to Bayonne passes through Lourdes. I had no idea until I boarded. Kathryn and I drove from Montpellier to Lourdes when we visited four years ago. It’s good to know there’s a reasonable connection by train, too.
As the train is approaching the Pyrenees, I’ve been seeing a number of snow-capped peaks in the distance. I know the pass I’ll be hiking tomorrow is at a much lower elevation than the peaks I’m seeing now, but the sight is adding to my already sky-high level of anxiety.
God willing, 36 hours from now, I’ll be over the Pyrenees and sound asleep in Spain.
