To follow up on my emergency room visit in Montpellier in September, there was indeed a paper bill waiting for me in our mailbox when I arrived Sunday. I received nothing by e-mail. I guess dématérialisation hasn’t hit the French health care industry yet.
There were many ways to pay, including walking to the tabac down the street and paying in person, but I ended up just paying online with a credit card.
There were three sets of instructions on how to pay by credit card — one on the front of the bill, one on the back of the bill, and the one on the payment portal — and they were all different. Somehow, I figured it out.
The total in U.S. dollars was $110.56, which included radiology.
