It’s already been two weeks since my last post, and I’m almost home again. This time, a very long layover in Salt Lake City, caused by a missed connection that was at least partly the result of winter weather in France, is giving me a bit of time to write some more.
Thanks to an abundance of rest over the last two weeks, the injuries I mentioned in my last post are nearly healed, and I’m mostly back to normal. On the one hand, I feel like I could have been more productive during our stay in France. On the other hand, it’s probably a good thing I wasn’t.
For her part, Kathryn did some painting of the trim in our apartment, which looks great. Most of my efforts, few as they were, involved replacing things that, after a year, needed to be replaced, like the smoke detector and thermostat batteries.
In October, Kathryn visited Montpellier without me, and she accumulated a short list of restaurants she wanted to visit when we returned together. We tried several of them, and added a few others spontaneously, so if nothing else, we ate quite well this trip. I’ll curate some photos and post them over the next week or so.
