Compared to yesterday’s long, knee-crushing downhill slog, today should have been a piece of cake. The reality is that I spent today feeling yesterday’s hills in my legs. The last hour went pretty slowly, but I got there. After my shower, I had a nearly two-hour nap.

I was surprised to see bagel sandwiches on the menu where I stopped for breakfast. This bacon, cheese, and avocado was a delightful change of pace.
A simple parish church where I stopped to pray for a short time. The volunteer outside was pulling people in with a Spanish word almost every pilgrim knows — sello, the stamp that goes in the pilgrim credential.
I took a bit of a chance with an alternate route that followed the highway a little longer, and I was rewarded with a walk through vineyards and an hour of solitude.
