Beautiful walking weather today, even if the scenery was a little dull. Cool, some clouds, and the insufferable winds of the previous two days had weakened into a gentle breeze.
I took a chance and targeted a donativo for this evening. A donativo is a pilgrim accommodation that is usually run by a parish or other religious entity and only accepts donations as payment. As a result, they’re often kind of dumpy, so I try to avoid them. In this case, it was the only reasonable accommodation near my target mileage for the day.
Donativos rarely take reservations, and this one has 30 beds. I arrived a half hour after they opened, and I was number 27. It could have been a really long day of walking.
