My stay in Montpellier is drawing to a close. In about 48 hours, if all goes according to plan, I’ll have boarded my flight back to Phoenix.

There hasn’t been much to say about this trip. Other than a four-day weekend for Thanksgiving, it wasn’t a vacation. I brought my business computer with me, and I’ve worked full-time since I arrived.

My main project for this trip was to get the toilet replaced. The toilet that came with the apartment was a mismatched tank and bowl, and the fixtures holding the two together were nonstandard and no longer available. The replacement is definitely an upgrade and went off without a hitch.

Seeing a toilet delivered by bicycle was a first for me. It’s actually quite practical, given the narrow streets and congestion in the city center. Our apartment is located on a street that’s one-way for motorized traffic, but it has bicycle lanes in both directions.

I took a long stroll through the city center on Thanksgiving Day to get some photos of Montpellier under the Christmas lights. Since most of the lights twinkle, I also made several short videos that capture the charm better. Unfortunately, the guy who wrote this blog software never included a feature for uploading videos, so I’m attaching the still photos instead.
