Kathryn and I are riding the rails again after two nights in Prague.
We weren’t able to reserve seats for this train to Linz, but we arrived early and found two unreserved seats well before the train departed. However, we just learned that our early arrival only assured us seats through the next stop, the first hour of a nearly four hour segment. After that, we all have to board a bus and ride two stops due to work on the tracks. When we’re back on the train, all bets are off.
Prague was as beautiful as I remembered, but also far more crowded. It’s also seems to be marketing itself as a weird mix of Las Vegas and Amsterdam. It was Kathryn’s first time, and she was suitably impressed.
I’ll write more later when the train-bus-train transfer drama has resolved itself.
