Yesterday’s walk from El Burgo Ranero to León started out as boring as the previous days. However, a couple hours away from León, the Camino passed through gently rolling hills, eventually providing a dramatic view of the cathedral on the city skyline from miles away.
Part of my motivation for getting to León was because I knew they’d have a Mass at 6 pm at the cathedral. The only Sunday Mass in El Burgo Ranero was at the pilgrim-unfriendly hour of 11 am.
It’d been days since I’d seen any livestock. Just a couple dozen cattle enjoying a Sunday morning nap.
Not very interesting terrain, but at least there was more shade than the previous several days. Good news because the clouds had disappeared.
The cathedral makes quite an impression on the skyline of León.
